Simon, Elizabeth (23 Sep 1830 - 27 Jan 1913)

 

Mrs. Elizabeth Simon died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Marx.  Deceased was born in Wallhousen, Germany on Sept. 23, 1830, and at the age of 14 she came to this county with her parents, locating near Hartford, Wis.  On March 7, 1848, she was united in marriage to Jacob Simon in the town of St. Lawrence, near Hartford, and to this union eight children were born.  Mr. and Mrs. Simon came to Neillsville about 16 years ago and Mr. Simon died about 14 years ago.

 

Mrs. Simon was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic congregation of this city and was also a member of the altar society of that church.  She was a good Christian lady, a kind mother and charitable and pleasant woman, whose sterling qualities have often been demonstrated during her years of residence here.  The funeral will be held this morning (Thursday) at 9 o’clock at St. Mary’s church, Rev. Dorrenbach officiating.  Deceased was survived by the following children: Mrs. J. Suchy of Rosholt, Mrs. J. Sucke of Mica, Idaho, John Simon, Mrs. John Marx and Mrs. Frank Gall of this city.  Deceased children were Susan, Nickolas and Mrs. Wiersham.
