Drake, Elayne (12 SEPT 1947)
In a quiet double-ring ceremony, performed by the Rev. J. M. Cooper of the First Baptist church in Longview, Wash., Miss Elayne Drake and Ralph H. Wakefield repeated their wedding vows at 8 p.m. on Sept. 12. The bride is the daughter of Tillie M. Eldred of Warrenton, Ore., and Allie Drake of Loyal, and the groom is the son of Mrs. Ann Wakefield of Longview.
The bride chose a medium green tailored suit and wore an orchid corsage. The bridesmaid, Miss Betty Williams, wore a gray suit, with a corsage of vander orchids. Willard Zbaeren, a friend of the couple, was best man.
The bride’s mother was attired in a floral jersey, and the groom’s mother chose a black canten crepe. Both wore corsages of gardenias.
A reception followed at the First Baptist church. Mrs. Viola Wakefield and Mrs. Eva Eldredge poured and served.
The bridal couple took a short trip into southern Oregon, stopping at various scenic spots.
Mr. Wakefield has resumed his studies at the Longview Business college, and the bride, who graduated from the Loyal high school with the class of 1944, is employed at the Longview Fibre Co. The couple is at home to friends at 306 18th avenue, Longview.
To the newlyweds, The Loyal Tribune extends its heartiest congratulations and best wishes for the future.
