Voight, Alverna (24 NOV 1947)

Miss Alverna Voight, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Voight Sr. of Loyal, became the bride of Joseph L. Zilk of Neillsville, during a nuptial mass celebrated by the Rev. Fr. John Pritzl at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Neillsville on Monday, Nov. 24.

The bride wore an entrained gown of white satin, fashioned with a sheer yoke, round neckline and fitted bodice. Her fingertip veil was caught to a seed pearl headdress, and she carried a bouquet of white roses.

Mr. and Mrs. Matt Dergance of Lyons, Ill., attended the couple. Mrs. Dergance wore a teal gown, styled with a fitted bodice and bustle back. Matching gauntlets and a feathered headdress completed her attire. She carried a bouquet of red roses.

Luncheon was served to about 50 guests at Becker’s party room in Neillsville. Following a reception held there, Mr. and Mrs. Zilk left for a wedding trip to the south.

The bride, a graduate of the Loyal high school with the class of 1941, is employed as a secretary in the Clark county highway department. Mr. Zilk attended the Neillsville high school and the Electrical School of Engineering in Milwaukee. He is a veteran of three years service in the navy and is now employed as an auto mechanic.

To the newlyweds, The Loyal Tribune extends its wishes for a long and happy married life.
