Miss Irene C. Gaulke, the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Gaulke of Chili, became the bride of George Schecklman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Schecklman of the town of York, at a nuptial high mass celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic church in Bakerville at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6. The Rev. Fr. Edmund Kramer officiated.
The couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Walter Roehl of Chili, brother-in-law and sister of the bride; Misses Rosalind and Florein Schecklman of Milwaukee, sisters of the groom; Franklin Walter of Loyal, cousin of the groom, and Jim Davis of Chili; a close friend.
The bride was attired in a medium gray suit, with black accessories, and carried a prayerbook and rosary. She wore a corsage of pink and white carnations. Mrs. Roehl wore a suit of darker gray. Rosalind Schecklman a suit of bright green and Florein Schecklman a suit of gold, all with black accessories and corsages similar to the bride’s.
After the ceremony, a reception was held for the immediate families and close relatives at the home of the bride’s parents. Suupper was served for about 50 guests. A dance and shower were given that evening in the Granton hall.
The bride was employed in Marshfield and Milwaukee prior to her marriage, and the groom has operated the York Center cheese factory since his return from the service.
To the newlyweds, the Loyal Tribune extends its wishes for a long and happy married life.
