Rasmussen, Lauritz (Lars) (30 DEC 1882 - 29 JUN 1956)
Lauritz (Lars) Rasmussen passed away at his home in the city of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) Friday evening, June 29th, 1956, succumbing to a long lingering illness.
Funeral services were conducted at the Griebenow Funeral Home by Rev. H. D. Wagner, pastor of the Alliance Church, on Monday, July 2, at two o’clock. Burial was made in the Longwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Grant Andersen, Hans Hansen, Paul Strohkirch, Henry Mauel, Sr., Fred Koplitz and Christ Petersen.
Lauritz Rasmussen was born Dec. 30, 1882 in Denmark and came to the United States as a youth. The biggest part of his life was spent in the Owen and Withee communities where he successfully farmed prior to his retirement and moving to Owen about 10 years ago.
He is survived by only his wife, the former Helga Ide.
