Mahoney, Eugenia #2 (10 JUN 1890 - 11 SEP 1956)
Father Hubert Crubel officiated at the Requiem High Mass said at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, Sept. 14th for Mrs. Wilburt J. Mahoney, Sr., who passed away Sept. 11th, 1956, while a patient at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
Her remains were placed in their final resting place at Riverside Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were W. K. Doonan, J. Peter Madsen, C. N. McMillan, Neal Laine, E. C. Olds, Edward Thorson, Emil Hansen, Edw. Wendt and Roy C. Gabriel.
Mrs. Mahoney, nee Eugenia Scott Pond, was born June 10, 1890 in Eau Claire where she received her education and was united in marriage to her husband on May 22, 1912. For the past 29 years she has been resident of this community (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), having come here with her family in 1927.
In former years she gave freely of her time and efforts in the sponsorship of community affairs. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Christian Mothers and St. Cecelia’s Circle church groups.
Mourning her departure are her husband, a son, Wilburt J. Mahoney, Jr., Owen; three daughters, Mrs. John Z. (Janet) Wilson, Rochester, N.Y., Mrs. Emery M. (Margaret) Erickson and Mrs. Norbert (Jean) Pabich, Owen; five granddaughters Patricia and Jacqueline Wilson, Karen Erickson, Susan Mahoney and Lynn Pabich, three grandsons, Kevin and Brian Mahoney, and James Erickson, and one sister, Mrs. J. George (Helen) Charles of Eau Claire.
Preceding her in death were her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Eugene S. Pond, two sisters and two brothers.
