Born to Bradley Lantz and wife on Feb. 11, a daughter.
Herman Tiedeman of Longwood was a Thorp visitor last
week.
Mrs. E. W. Selden went to Eau Claire Friday evening to spend
Sunday with friends.
Oak Leaf camp No. 1278, M.W.A. has 81 members in good
standing at the present time.
It is reported that W.J. McGrogan will go into the carpenter
business with the Finnegans.
John Slota, who was operated on for appendicitis at an Eau
Claire hospital last week, is recovering.
The Woman’s Topical Club held a Lincoln’s
birthday party at Walsdorf’s hall on Thursday.
Brad Lantz has returned from camp near Withee, where he has
been employed by the R. Connor Co.
The firm of Banderob and McRae has been dissolved by mutual
consent. Mr. Banderob continues the business.
Frank Plecity has returned from a visit to Rice Lake. His
father accompanied him and will remain for a time.
Verna Richardson of Spencer visited Mrs. F. Dygart, Maude
Damon, and other friends last week, returning to her home on
Saturday.
Mrs. G.H. Lusk and Carrie Pope entertained the Ladies’
Union Cub Saturday evening at the Lusk residence with a valentine
[sic] party.
James Maddux came up from the Soldier’s Home at Waupaca
last week to be present at the funeral of his granddaughter, Lottie
Mallory.
Little Lottie Mallory, aged nine years, died on Monday of
last week of typhoid fever. This is the second child taken from the
stricken parents since New Years.
Herb Waltermeier, who has been in the hospital at Eau Claire
for treatment for rheumatism, was in town Saturday on his way back
to Owen.
A grade spelling contest is being arranged to take place in
the near future between the pupils of the Withee school and those
of our high school.
John Daniels has gone into the dray business, having bought
out W.J. McGrogan, and Chas. H. Christian purchased Irving
Selden’s outfit and will also do some draying himself.
Geo B. Parkhill, Barney Rusch and Dr. P. McKittrick were the
delegates elected to attend the county convention to be held in
Greenwood in April, by the M.W.A. camp of this place.
