Stockmeyer, Josie #3 (10 MAR 1889 - 6 OCT 1956)

 

Mrs. Ernest Stockmeyer passed away suddenly of a heart attack at her home on Saturday evening, Oct. 6th, 1956.

 

She was born in Austria on March 19, 1889, and came to Milwaukee in her youth.  She was married to Ernest Stockmeyer 47 years ago and moved to their farm home north of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1911.

 

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 9th from the First Evangelical and Reformed Church at Colby.  The Rev. Victor Grossheuch officiated and burial was made in the Colby Cemetery.  She is survived by her husband, one son, Clarence, La Crosse; two daughters, Mrs. Adolph (Edna) Bartell, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Justin (Elsie) Gray of Colby, and four grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers were Ervin Koerner, Fred Hahn, Neal Green, Clarence Geary, Alfred Thompson, and Ed Krause.

 

Among the out of town people attending the rites were John Moser, Adolph Bartell, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Fena, Milwaukee; Fred Heinz, Mr. and Mrs. Reinhold Stockmeyer, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Pluess, Fred Stockmeyer, Mr. and Mrs. Allyn Heinz, Mrs. Roland Meyer, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stockmeier, all of Manitowoc; Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Hanson, Bernard Veglahn, La Crosse; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stockmeier, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Hockman and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hockman, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Goeke, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Goeke, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Goeke and son of Newton, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ecke and Mrs. Vila Johnson, Marshfield; Mervin Krause, Westboro; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tulle of Stratford; Mrs. Lena Goeke, Wm. Goeke, Mrs. Alma Bush, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kuester, Mr. and Mrs. Art Awe, all of Greenwood; in addition to friends from Colby, Owen, Stetsonville, Abbotsford and Curtiss.
