Pacewicz, Adam (24 DEC 1875 - 4 OCT 1956)
Funeral services were held by the Rev. H. L. Crubel at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, at 9:00 o’clock Oct. 6th for Adam Pacewicz, 81 whose death at the hospital in Marshfield was attributed to a stroke.
The body laid in state at Griebenow’s Funeral Home where a general rosary was held. Pallbearers were Alfred Frost, Raymond Munson, Victor Skaleski, Henry Madej, Steve Pacewicz, Jr., and Walter Pacewicz, Jr. Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Pacewicz was born in Russia Dec. 24, 1875, and was married to Antonia Radowicz at Chicago, Ill., on May 25, 1900. His wife died May 15, 1928.
When he was seven years of age he came to the United States with his parents and one sister and lived for the next 10 years in Staten Island, N.Y. He and his parents went back to Russia where he attended college for two years. Upon their return they settled in Chicago. Shortly after he married and bought a farm in the Town of Roosevelt, Taylor Co., Wis., where he resided until they moved to their present farm. On Nov. 28, 1928, he married Anna Kacimanski. Mr. Pacewicz held several town offices while a resident of the Town of Roosevelt.
He is survived by his wife and two sons, Steve and Walter. A son, Paul, preceded him in death in 1953.
