Last week at the annual convention of the Wisconsin Telephone association at Madison, W.L. Smith was elected vice-president.  He has been a director of the association for several years and his elevation to the vice-presidency no doubt came as the result of his efforts and interest while serving as a director.  Mr. Smith was also the toast-master at the banquet at the Park hotel and reports of the meeting and banquet state that he acquitted himself most acceptably in that position.
