Bacon, Cornelius (6 DEC 1882 - 26 NOV 1956)
Cornelius "Con" Bacon, a pioneer resident of this community, passed away late Monday afternoon, suffering from a heart condition. He was 73 years, 11 months and 13 days of age. Death came to him as he rested in his room in the Fremont Hotel where he had lived for the past several years. For the past week to ten days prior to his death his health had been failing.
Funeral services were conducted from the Hoeper-Kraut Funeral Home at two o’clock, Monday, Nov. 26th ?? . The Rev. H. D. Wagner officiated at the services with vocal selections by Mrs. Wagner.
Nephews residing in this vicinity served as pallbearers, and burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Bacon was born Dec. 6, 1882 at Five Points, Wis., in Richland Co. He lived his entire life in Wisconsin, first at Five Point, later Jump River and then came to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) when the lumbering industry first started here.
He is survived by two sisters, both of whom live in the state of Washington, and several nephews and nieces who reside in this community.
