2010)
Gertrude Henchen, 87, of Neillsville died peacefully
in the arms of the Lord Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the house of the
Dove in Marshfield.
Gertrude Irma Klauer was born Aug. 11, 1922, at home
in the Town of Seif, Clark County, the daughter of Hugo and Marie (Duebler) Klauer. She attended the Worchel Grade School in Seif
Township and later was united in marriage to Leo Henchen Sept. 5,
1942, at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Globe. She and
Leo farmed and raised their children, and she lived her entire life
in the house in which she was born.
She was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical
Lutheran Church, its Ladies’ Aid and she served in many of
the church’s offices. In their spare time Gertrude and
Leo also volunteered their time at the Clark County Humane Society
caring for the animals.
Gertrude grew beautiful flower gardens, and she
loved African Violets. She also loved animals, especially her
Siamese kittens and her cows. Along with loving to write, she
also liked listening to old-time country music on the radio and she
had many tapes of church music she would listen
to.
She is survived by a daughter, Carol Schaub of
Neillsville; two sons, Charles (Sharon) Henchen of Chippewa Falls
and Bruce (Robin) Henchen of Stoddard; six grandchildren, Alicia
Schaub of Hill City, SD. Tammy Polock of Coon Rapids, MN, Teresa
Zirbel of Menomonie Falls, Todd (Angela) Henchen of Brooklyn Park,
MN, Michel Henchen of Westby and Matthew Henchen of Genoa and three
step grandchildren. She is further survived by eight
great-grandchildren, Tanner, Rilee, Nicholas, Aiden, Joshua,
Taylor, Erik and Emily and six step
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her
parents.

a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran
Church in Globe. Pastor John Warmuth will officiate.

Thoma, soloist. Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Church
Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time
