Lawrence N. "Ozzie" Jackson, 85, Greenwood, died on Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the Kourtland House, Greenwood. Visitation will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Greenwood, on Friday, May 14 from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. The Rev. Curt Rohland will officiate. Burial will follow at Emmananuel Lutheran Chuurch in the town of Longwood. Pallbearers will be Steve Moen, Ryan Moen, Dale Jacobitz, Donn Warner, Mark Warner, Kirk Jensen, Michael Wickham and Marh Wickham.
 
Lawrence Neal Jackson was born on April 14, 1925, in the town of Longwood, to Louis and Cecelia (nee Sorenson) Jackson. He attended Longwood State Graded School until the age of 10, when his family moved into Greenwood. He began working at Mech’s Cheese Factory when in high school. He completed his education, graduating from Greenwood High School in 1944, where he played football and basketball. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on Aug. 24, 1944, and served overseas in Germany, at the site of the Remagen Bridge. After his discharge on July 2, 1946, he returned home to Greenwood and began working for the John Wuethrich Creamery Company, later Grassland Products Inc., where he remained until retirement..
 
He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council, and a very active member of the Greenwood American Post #238. He had many interests, but especially enjoyed bowling, watching high school sports events and the Packers.
 
He will be dearly missed by his devoted friend and companion, Elaine Herdrich, Greenwood; three sisters-in-law, Julia Bublitz, Milwaukee, Charlotte Jackson, Spencer, and Marion Jackson, LaCrescent, Minn.; nieces, Norma (Duce) Telford, Ann Larson, Amy (Dale) Jacobitz, Joanne Wickham, Susan Jackson, Carol (Jack) Jensen, Kathryn Reichle, Susan Kissinger, and Mary Ann Jackson; nephews Harold (Edith) Warner, Warren Jackson, Duane Jackson, Bob Jackson, Tom Jackson, Dale( Valerie) Jackson, David (Phyllis) Jackson, Donald (Cheryl) Jackson, and Fred Jackson.
 
Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Lillian (Donald) Warner; and six brothers, Einer (Lila) Jackson, Arnold (Lorraine) Jackson, Norman Jackson, Gordon (Mary) Jackson, Lee Jackson and Harold Jackson.
