Marciniak, Opal Jane (28 AUG 1926 - 26 APRIL 2010)
Opal Jane Marciniak, 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, April
26, 2010.
Opel was born on Aug. 28, 1926, in Loyal, Wis., the daughter of the
Late Art and Ila (Salzwedel) Hendrickson. Opal graduated from
Greenwood High School in 1944. On June 14, 1947, she married her
loving husband. Joseph Marciniak, in Plover, Wis. He preceded her
in death on Feb. 17, 1981. Opal worked as a cook for Riverside and
Parkside nursing homes until her retirement in 1966. She enjoyed
bus trips with friends, spending time with family and her special
craft, sequin calendars. She was alwaus thoughtful of others and
ready to extend a helping hand.
Opal is lovingly survived by her children, her oldest son came into
her life at the age of 35 when he found her, Lauren (Joye) Lemke,
Waupun, Greg (Gail) Marciniak of Larson, Joe (Dawn) Marciniak,
Kaukauna, Darrell and partner Joey Grometh, Schaumburg, Ill., Jo (Dale) Holm, Little Chute, Mary (Kurt) Duquqine, Stacy, Minn.,
and (Dick) Parduhn, Hudson; several grandchildren and
great-grandchildren; sisters, Arlene (Jim) Egan, and Faye (Larry)
Lange; brother; Archie (Marlene) Hendrickson; sisters-in-law,
Loretta Marciniak, Avis Hendrickson, Betty Hendrickson, and Betty
Englebretson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her infant son, Darrin Marciniak,
grandson Jeff Duquaine and brothers, Rodney, Orville and Henry
Hendrickson, and Jimmie Englebretson.
A funeral service was held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna,
with the Rev. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Gift bearers were Lauren and
his son Josh Lemke.
