Swann, Neva (03 DEC 1876-30 DEC 1948)
Neva Kayhart, daughter of Charles and Harriet Smith Kayhart, was
born on the Kayhart farm in the town of Weston on Dec. 3, 1876, and
died in Neillsville on Dec. 30, 1947, her age being 71 years and 27
days. She was married in the old home town of Weston on Dec. 3,
1918, to William R. Swann of Neillsville, who died on Nov. 6, 1938.
She continued to live in her home in Neillsville until the date of
her death, which occurred at 2 p.m. last Tuesday. Her death was
caused by a heart attack.
At an early age she joined the Methodist church at Christie, and at
the time of her marriage, she transferred her membership to
Neillsville, where she continued as a faithful member until her
death. She was a home loving woman, her chief interests being her
home, her church, her family and her friends. After the death of
her husband, she spent much time in Loyal at the home of her
sister, the Late Mrs. Fred Draper.
Mrs. Swann leaves to mourn her loss; three step-sons, Bert Swann of
Neillsville, Ernest Swann of Cedar Rapids, Ia., and George Swann of
Crandon, and four nieces, Bernice Draper of Greensboro, N.C., Mrs.
Melvin Linders of St. Louis, Mo., and Irene Anderson and Inez Piper
of Antigo.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Neillsville
Saturday afternoon, Jan. 3, with the Rev. F. A. Fahlgren
officiating. Interment was in the Neillsville cemetery. Pallbearers
were George Kramer, Thomas Winters, Burton Wells, George Hubing,
Roy Suckow and Carl Millard.
Among those from out of town who attended the services were: Fred
Draper and Miss Bernice Draper of Greensboro, N. C., Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Baughman, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hill, Mrs. R. M. Pratt and
Mrs. Louise Roseman of Loyal, George Swann of Crandon, and Inez
Piper of Antigo.
