Frederickson, Herbert #3 (1915 - 5 MAR 1957)

Herbert Frederickson, 42, of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.) died at 11:20 last night at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, from injuries sustained in a two car collision which he was involved in at 2 p.m. Tuesday.  His condition had been listed as critical since his admission to the hospital and members of his family were with him constantly.

Frederickson’s car struck that of Adolph Violetta, 48, of Negaunee, Mich., he on when Frederickson failed to negotiate the curve at the east city limits of Owen on Highway 29.  The impact occurred at the east entrance of the driveway into the Miru at 2 p.m. Tuesday.  Frederickson was traveling east and the Violetta car west at the time.

Frederickson was rushed to the hospital in the city ambulance manned by Fire Chief Harry Dempsey and Fireman Vic Decker.  His injuries were confined to his head and chest.

Adolph Violetta and his wife, Fanny, 47, were treated at the Owen Medical Clinic by Dr. H. M. Braswell.  Adolph Violetta escaped with only minor bruises while his wife suffered severe facial lacerations from striking the windshield of the car, a painful hip injury and bruises.  The Violetta’s were enroute to Rochester, Minn., where she was to submit to an emergency operation.

Frederickson had just left the Owen Dairy Company plant, Owen, where he served as a field man, 16 minutes before the fatal crash occurred.

Both cars were badly damaged.

The accident was investigated by traffic officer Dave Bertz and Adolph Haavist.

As of noon today funeral arrangements were still being made by the Hoper and Kraut Funeral Home.  Tentatively it is believed that services will be conducted at two o’clock Saturday afternoon from the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Curtiss with Rev. Max Wilhelm officiating.  Burial will be made at Stanley.

Friends may call at the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home for verification of these dates, as this authenticity cannot be established until such time as a brother is heard from, who home is in the east.

He is survived by his wife and three children, Gerald, Robert and Joanne, and his parents who are residents of Brown County.
