Tonn, Augusta #4 (1 JAN 1862 - 14 MAR 1957)
A 95 year old pioneer resident of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), Mrs. Frank (Augusta) Tonn, died last Thursday at the Havenet Nursing Home, Owen, of old age complications. She had been living at the home for the past year and a half.
The former Augusta Trapp was born in Germany Jan. 1, 1862, and was married to Mr. Tonn, Sept. 1, 1883, at Milwaukee. That same year they came to the town of Hoard, farming there until 1926, when they retired and moved to Curtiss. Mr. Tonn died 19 years ago.
Survivor are two sons, Paul Tonn, Milwaukee, and Arthur Tonn, Curtiss; three daughters, Mrs. Martin (Bertha) Nissen, Glidden, Mrs. William (Anna) Korth, San Gabriel, Calif., and Mrs. Ray (Hattie) Staples, Medford; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Two sons, Albert and Franklin, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at two o’clock Saturday afternoon at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at Curtiss. The Rev. Martin Krause officiated and burial was made in the family lot in the church cemetery in the Town of Hoard.
