Chabot, Elsie (11 JUN 1882 - 4 MAY 1957)

 

Mrs. L. B. Chabot, nee Elsie Haigh, a resident of this community (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.) for 52 years, passed away at 9 p.m., May 4th, 1957, succumbing to an illness of long duration.

 

Final rites were held at two o’clock yesterday afternoon, May 8th, from St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church, with the pastor, Father Laurence Brenton, officiating.  Burial was made in the family lot at Riverside Cemetery.  Serving as pallbearers were H. V. Anderson, Dr. C. M. Toraason, Wm. Wollum, Harvey Weddig, Eugene Sutter and Donald Kraut.

 

The deceased was born June 11, 1882 in Milwaukee and came to Owen in 1905.  The following year she was united in marriage to the late L. B. Chabot in a ceremony performed at Eau Claire.  Prior to her illness she was active in church and civic affairs of the community.  She is preceded in death by one son, Robert, who passed away at the age of five years, and her husband who died in 1945.

 

Surviving her are one son, Lawrence of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. E. H. Maynard of Bismarck, North Dakota and a niece, Mrs. R. E. Sylvester, also of Bismarck, North Dakota.

Mrs. T. B. (Elsie) Chabot of Owen, Wisconsin, who is in the city on a visit with her sister, Mrs. L. E. Maynard, was taken suddenly ill Thursday night and a physician pronounced her ailment as appendicitis. Mrs. Chabot was successfully operated on for the malady and her condition is pronounced most favorable by the surgeon in charge.
