Colby, Bert (13 MAY 1914 - 8 JUL 1957)
Mr. Bert Colby passed away July 8th, 1957 at 3:15 in the afternoon at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. He had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage that morning at three o’clock. He was born on the 13th day of May in the year of 1914 at Unity, Wis. He grew up and attended school there and came to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Colby. He was employed in the city until he went to the hospital in Eau Claire for a major operation in 1952. He then made his home there after marrying Muriel Briemer. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Muriel Colby of 602 North Dewey St., Eau Claire, his father, James Colby of Owen; a sister, Mrs. Felix (Rhea) Dietsche of Owen, and a brother Richard of Milwaukee.
Services were conducted at the Hoy Rosary Catholic Church at 9:30 this morning, Thursday, July 11th, with Father Raymond Schultz of Abbotsford praying the Mass.
Pallbearers were Stewart Solter, Don Colby, Lowell Colby, Len Colby, Wally Lipprandt and William Mattson. Interment was made at the Unity Cemetery.
