Nielsen, Dorothy (20 JUL 1957)
The Nazareth Lutheran Church was the scene of the four o’clock nuptials Saturday, July 20th, 1957, which saw Miss Dorothy Nielsen of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) became the bride of Peter Zasoba of Chattanooga, Tenn. The Rev. Clayton Nielsen performed the ceremony before an altar banked with summer flowers.
The bride approached the altar in a street length dress of light blue nylon. A white hat bedecked with colorful sequins and veiling completed her outfit. She wore the groom’s gift of double string pearls with a diamond clasp. Her corsage was of an orchid and roses.
The groom wore a dark business suit. Ushering duties were performed by Harold Christensen and George Sorenson. Both men wore business suits.
Miss Louise Hansen provided piano music with Mrs. V. A. Hansen rendering two solos. Mrs. Stanley Hucker sang "O Perfect Love" and "The Perfect Prayer."
Immediately after the ceremony, a reception was held at the church parlors. The banquet tables were beautifully decorated with white tablecloths, tapered candles, and fresh cut garden flowers. Mr. Edward Thorson of Eau Claire furnished dinner music on his Hammond organ. Open House was held in the evening at the bride’s home where they received numerous guests. The ladies of the Guild from Nazareth Lutheran Church served cake, ice cream and coffee.
The couple left on a tour late that evening. On the 5th of August, Mr. Zasoba will leave for Chattanooga, where he is employed at the National Burial Insurance Co. as an insurance agent and collector. Mrs. Zasoba will continue making her home in Withee where she will resume her duties as postmistress and also care for her uncle.
Mrs. Zasoba is a graduate of the Owen High School and also attended State Teachers College at Eau Claire. She has been postmistress at the Withee Post Office for a number of years and is very active in all community affairs. Mr. Zasoba graduated from the Curtiss Grade School and Northwestern University.
Among some of the friends and relatives attending the wedding were Clinton Zasoba, Munich, Germany; Miss Mable Larson and Martin Larson, Abbotsford; Mrs. Walda Williams, Peoria, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. John Lokken, Curtiss; Mr. and Mrs. Pudlas, curtiss; Mrs. Harry Gustafson and son, Phillips; the Ove Hansens of Sheboygan, and many other friends and relatives.
