Seagren, Hazel (6 November 1915 - 14 June
2009)
Hazel Seagren will be laid to rest beside her
husband, Emil, June 12, 2010 at the cemetery in Tony. She
passed away June 14, 2009, at the age of 93, at Arbor Village of
Geneva Crossings in Lake Geneva, where she had resided the last few
years.
She was born Nov. 6, 1915, in Iowa to Olga and James
Burgess. Hazel married Emil Seagren at Tony May 1,
1932. They had six daughters: Two, Harriet and Ruthie, died
in infancy, and Jackie Jo Crary who was killed in a motorcycle
accident in 1984.
Hazel and Emil farmed and resided in numerous places
in Wisconsin until they moved to Jefferson County and worked for
many years at the county home in Jefferson. After retiring,
they moved to Clark County and later returned to
Jefferson.
She is sadly missed by her daughters, Jeanne Witte, Lake Delton, Nancy Warfel, Columbia City, IN, and Leone Butzine, Stevens Point; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; her brother, Leo (Marjorie) Burgess, Sandy, OR; two sisters, Martha (Charles) Jondle, Shellsburg, IA, and Violet (Duke) Mechelke, Loyal; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
