Eilert, Leda (29 Mar 1913)
One of the most interesting surprises of the spring season is the announcement of the marriage of Miss Leda Eilert and Alfred H. McKenzie, the important ceremony having been quietly solemnized in Oakland on March 29th, in the Trinity Episcopal Church, Rev. Macon officiating. The event was entirely unostentatious, in conformity with the wishes of the bride, and the only wedding guests were Miss Zoe Eden and Miss Nora Kenyon, two close friends of the principals. For personal reasons the news of the marriage was kept quiet and Mr. and Mrs. McKenzie left on Monday in their machine for an automobile trip of several weeks’ duration in the north, later going down the coast to Santa Barbara, for a brief visit with Mrs. W.H. McKenzie, the groom’s mother.
Both Mr. and Mrs. McKenzie enjoy a wide popularity among many Fresno friends, who were aware of the existing engagement, the surprise being in the wedding already having taken place. Upon their return, they will make their home in the McKenzie residence on K Street. - The Fresno Morning Republican
