Rasmussen, Julia (26 APR 1918 - 27 JUN 2010)
OWEN -- Julia (Krze) Rasmussen, 92, of Owen, formerly of Greenwood, died Sunday, June 27, 2010, at the Clark County Health Care Center, in Owen.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at Immanuel United Church of Christ, rural Greenwood. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church today, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Julia Krze was born April 26, 1918, in North Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Cyril and Agnes (Mazovec) Krze. After completing her education, Julia worked as a housekeeper and at the dry cleaners in Neillsville. She was united in marriage to Walter Rasmussen on Oct. 5, 1935, in Waukegan, Ill. Julia and her husband owned and operated Elmdale Cheese Factory, where she ran the bar and store attached to the factory. They sold the factory in 1977. Julia then went to work at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, from 1978 until her retirement in 1984.
Julia is survived by her children, Shirley (Jack) Denk of Waukesha, Roy (Mary) of Greenwood, Ethel Solmonson of Thorton, Colo., Gary (Tina) of Eau Claire, and Pat (Myron) Netterlund of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, on Dec. 16, 1994.
