Landa, Ione M. (20 FEB 1918 - 24 JUN 2010)

WESTMONT, Ill. -- Ione M. Landa, 92, of Westmont, Ill., formerly of Abbotsford, died Thursday, June 24, 2010, at the Manor Care Nursing Home in Westmont, Ill.

Her funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Interment will follow in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery.

Ione was born Feb. 20, 1918, in Thorp, the daughter of Viola and Frank Rusk of Abbotsford. She moved to Chicago and married Edward J. Landa in 1942. The couple moved to Chester, Pa., and lived there until 1946. They lived in Chicago from 1946 to 1959, before moving to Oak Park, Ill., where she lived until 2005, when she entered the nursing home in Westmont, Ill.

She is survived by her children John (Linda) Landa of Wheaton, Ill., and Carol (Joseph) Scanio; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband.
