Frinak, Marie #2 (28 SEP 1957)
St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby, was the setting for the 9:30 a.m. marriage ceremony on Saturday, which united Miss Marie Frinak, Colby, and Gregory Wittman, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.). The Rev. John Pinion officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Frinak, route 2, Colby, and the groom, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Wittman, 2711 Roddis Ave. Marshfield.
Attendants for the young couple were the groom’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wittman, Marshfield. As matron of honor, Mrs. Wittman was attired in pink flocked nylon with full skirt and strapless, fitted bodice topped by a bolero jacket. A matching tulle headpiece and bouquet of white carnations tied with blue satin ribbon completed her ensemble. Ushers were Norman Wittman, Marshfield, the groom’s brother, and Thomas Jakel, Colby, a cousin of the bride.
For her wedding Miss Frinak chose a gown of lace over satin for the fitted bodice with Sabrina neckline and tulle over satin for the bouffant skirt, sprinkled with silver sequins. A lace crown with silver and iridescent sequins and pearls held her fingertip, imported silk illusion veil and she carried a bouquet of cut carnations centered with a lavender orchid.
Dinner for the immediate families was served at St. Mary’s gym, and following the reception at the bride’s home, supper was also served there to the many guests. Later dancing was enjoyed at Kolby Park.
The bride attended St. Mary’s School and Colby High School, and prior to her marriage was employed at the A. H. Weinbrenner Co., Marshfield. The groom attended Marshfield schools and is now manager of Wittman’s Super Market, Owen, where they will reside.
