Spry, Dale (25 MAR 1907 - 9 OCT 1957)

 

Funeral services were held Saturday for a former resident of this community, Dale R. Spry, of late years a resident of Lansing, Mich.  He passed away suddenly a week ago yesterday when stricken that evening while at home with a heart attack.  Death came shortly upon his arrival at a hospital.

 

Mr. Spry was born March 25, 1907 at Granton (Clark Co., Wis.).  He was a graduate of the Wis. State College at Stevens Point and in the late 20’s taught school at Curtiss and in the early 30’s at Longwood.  He then moved with his family to Lansing where he has been in the root beer business for the past 26 years.

 

He is survived by his wife and one son; two brothers and two sisters.

 

Attending the services from here were Mr. and Mrs. Byrl Rowe.

Spry, Dale (25 March 1907 – 9 October 1957)

Dale had a business in Lansing and Saginaw, Mich. After a quarter of a century in this business he retired. He was a member of the Methodist Church, the church’s board of trustees, planning commission and Men’s Club.

He also was affiliated with the following lodges: Lansing Lodge No. 559, F. and A. M.; Capital Chapter, No. 9, R. A. M.; Lansing Council, No. 29, of R S. M.; Lansing Commandery, No. 25, Knights Templer; DeWitt Consistory; Elf Khurafeh Shrine of Saginaw; Arbutus Chapter, No. 45, O. E. S.; and the Order of De Molay advisory board.

He is survived by his wife, the former Cleo Rowe, a son, Lowell; two brothers, Lloyd L. Spry of Granton and Phelps Spry of Chili; two sisters, Mrs. Otis Tucker of Mt. Clemens, Mich.; and Mrs. W. Jaenicke of Kankakee, Ill.

Funeral services were held Saturday in Lansing, with the Rev. Harold Jayne officiating. The Lansing Commandery, No. 25, Knights Templer, formed an escort.

People from Granton and Chili attending were, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Spry and Nancy, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Spry, Granton; Mr. and Mrs. Phelps Spry and family, Chili; Mrs. Herbert Schnabel and Mrs. Raymond Foemmel, Granton; and Mrs. Mildred Dankemyer of Chili.
