Purgett, Nadine (19 OCT 1957)

Married Saturday at a 12:30 ceremony at the St. John’s Lutheran Parsonage were Nadine Purgett and Charles Donald Churkey.  The couple’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ray Purgett and Mr. Charles Churkey, Sr., all of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).  Rev. Theo Predoehl performed the ceremony.

White net and lace fashioned the bride’s gown.  The fitted Chantilly lace bodice featured a scoop neckline and long tapered sleeves.  The full length skirt was of bouffant net with a net overskirt.  A crown of pearls held her fingertip veil and she carried a cascade of red tea roses and white mums.

Georgette Churkey, the groom’s sister-in-law, was the matron of honor.  Her gown was of pink net over taffeta with a headpiece that matched.  She carried tiny yellow and white carnations.  The bride’s cousin, Diane Purgett, performed the duties of bridesmaid.  She appeared in a gown of blue net over taffeta with a headpiece and flowers identical to that of the maid of honor.

William Churkey was best man and Eugene Purgett was usher.  The men wore business suits.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents with dinner at four o’clock at the Woodland Hotel.

Traditional music was furnished for the double ring ceremony by the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Charles Purgett.

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Purgett selected a dark blue dress.  Her corsage was of tiny red roses and white mums.

Many friends and relatives attend the wedding, of which many came from Milwaukee, Rochester, New York, North English, Iowa, Withee and Owen.
