Irven C. "Irv" Hoesly, 87, Brookfield, 87, Brookfield, died on Wednesday, May 5, 2010. Funeral services were held on Friday, May 7, at Becker Ritter Funeral Home, Brookfield.
Irven C. Hoesly was born on June 22, 1922, in Neillsville, and grew up on a dairy farm in central Wisconsin. After high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and served during World War ll. He later enrolled in Eau Claire Teachers’ College and earned a degree there, and continued his education with a master’s degree from UW-Madison. He had a long career as a teacher and school administrator. He became the first principal at Pilgrim Park Junior High School, Elm Grove, and continued in that position until his retirement in June 1985. He was a member of the Elmbrook Golden K Club, the VFW Post, the American Legion, and the Wisconsin Retired Education Association.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Marion; three children, Mike (Micki) Hoesly, Virginia Beach, Va., Tom (Nancy) Hoesly, Waterloo, and Lisa (John) Lingle, Brookfield; six grandchildren; a brother, Clarence (Sandy) Hoesly; sister, Kathleen (Don); and two sisters-in-law, Kathleen and Joanne (Ed); and other relatives and friends.
