Ott, Elias B. (28 DEC 1886 - 31 DEC 1955)
Elias B. Ott of Stanley passed away on Saturday, Dec. 31, 1955, at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley, after a long illness. Mr. Ott was the father of Mrs. Roy Missling of Withee.
Mr. Ott was born at Sauk City, Wis., Dec. 28, 1886. When 16 years old and until he was 23, he resided at Donnybrook, N.D., where he homesteaded a farm. On July 24, 1910 (a relative, Karen Bredahl Femrite, shows a marriage date of July 27, 1910 in her family records), he was married to Miss Edna N. Bobb in Reseburg Township (Clark Co., Wis.). They resided there for 15 years and in November of 1925 moved to Stanley. He was a salesman for the Madison Silo Co. for 17 years and also operated a small farm on the edge of Stanley. He was also employed by the Eagle Co. until 1953, when he retired. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Lilah) Miller of Saukville, Wis.; Mrs. Francis (Iona) McGeough of Lake Geneva, Wis.; and Mrs. Ray (Merle) Missling of Withee; two brothers, David R. Ott of Saukville, and Elmer J. Ott of Minong, N.D.; one sister, Mrs. A.K. Hanson of Minneapolis, and 13 grandchildren.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Cecil Ward officiating. Interment was at Riverside Cemetery in Withee.
