Trap Shooting (Matches - October 1903)

Shooting excitement - Last Sunday J. Dudley, the creamery man, and Lew Leighty, had a trap shoot with ten up and some of the coin was up on the side.  J. Dudley shot well that day, and won.  After the shooting, the victor got a rig and with Charley Harlow drove around town with a string of sleigh bells jingling to celebrate, while the losers tried to forget it and think of something else.

Monday morning a match was shot off between Walter Dangers and Stub Masters, Walter taking the money, and Monday afternoon a series of shoots began, one each day in the week - seven in all - Dudley to do all the shooting, Wm. Stowell betting him $10 on each shoot that he can’t hit 16 or over out of 25.

(It seems there should be more to this story, but it was not on my printed copy)
