Mrs. Kurt Listeman sent out invitations early this week for an ‘at home’ Wednesday, Feb. 10, 6 to 10, in honor of Miss Listeman of Chicago.

Mrs. W. T. Gilbert of Cadott visited Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Hemphill the past week.

Miss Grace Whitcomb is home from St. Paul, having completed her course in shorthand.

Mrs. Wm. Scovill of Loyal is very ill, and her sister, Mrs. Carried Lacey, is there caring for her.

Mr. Carroll, of Carroll & Klug, of Portage, was in the city Monday on his rounds as merchant tailor.

Mrs. E. V. Bailey went to Chicago yesterday, where she will make her home for an indeterminate time.

Richard Einfeldt of Greenwood is taking the short course for farmers at the state school of agriculture.

Miss Anna Grande and Miss Gertrude Clark of Humbird were over to attend the band dance and concert.

Milo P. Mason left yesterday for Castle Rock, Wash., where he owns a half interest in the Castle Rock Bank.

Miss Alice Huntley went to Stevens Point Sunday to visit her sister Mamie, who is attending business college there.

Miss Jenny Alexander of Loyal was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Hemphill through the Friday-to-Monday school interlude.

W. L. Smith went to Milwaukee Wednesday.  Mrs. Smith will join him in a day or so and they will take a short whirl of metropolitan life.

Charley Schultz came home Tuesday from Athens, from Upham’s camp No. 6, sick with rheumatism.  He and his wife have moved into the city from the farm over west.

J. Dudley took second premium on his butter at the Eau Claire convention of Buttermakers last week.

Fred Sears of Levis will attend the farmer’s convention at Madison next week.
