Gatke, Frances (1918 - 15 June 2010)
Frances Shepherd-Gatke (Bojarski) passed away on June 15, 2010, at The Hospice of the Valley in Sun City, Arizona.
Frances was born in 1918 in the Town of Withee to Frank and Pauline (Niedzwiecki) Bojarski, the tenth of eleven children. Frances attended Colby Rural Grade School and Thorp High School, graduating in 1936.
She lived in the Thorp area for a time, ultimately moving to Chicago where she met her first husband, Chester Shepherd. She married Chester in 1949. Chester passed away in 1977.
In 1978 she married Al Gatke, a friend she and Chester had known for years. Frances and Al did the sun-birding routine between Sun City, Arizona and Fox Lake, Illinois until Al passed away in 1988. Ultimately she chose to live full time in Sun City, Arizona.
She was 91 at the time of her death and passed away with family by her side.
