Dearth, Hilda L. (2 JAN 1922 - 12 JUL 2010)

 

 OWEN -- Hilda L. Dearth, 88, of Owen, passed away Monday, July 12, 2010, at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.

 

Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Community Alliance Church in Withee. The Rev. Dylan Valliere will officiate.

Visitation will be at the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Owen from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and again Thursday one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery in the town of Hixon.

Hilda was born Jan. 2, 1922, the daughter of Fred and Katherine (Thormahlen) Matson of Owen. She received her education at Forest Grove School in the town of Holway. Hilda married Elmer Dearth on April 22, 1939, in Withee. She was a faithful member at the Community Alliance Church, where she took pride in cleaning and making the church look nice. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and especially loved family gatherings.

Hilda is survived by her husband, Elmer; their four children, Kenneth (Deloris) Dearth of Prentice, Gordon Dearth of Salem, Ore., Shirley (Philip) Ely of Marshfield, and David (Toni) Dearth of Kaukauna. She is the loving grandma to Debra Passini, Cheryl Robinson, Julie Luther, Ken Dearth, Mike Dearth, Shannon Dearth, Heather Buhler, Rex Sayles, Tammy Anderson, Dusty Sayles, Robyn Mader, Jeremy Ely, Nikki Hoff, Derek Dearth and Ryan Dearth. She was the proud great-grandma of 28 grandchildren and one on the way; and one great-great-grandchild. She is further survived by her one brother, Harold (Betty) Matson of Withee; and two sisters, Anna Tauchen of Curtiss and Lillian Matson of Withee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Edna (Loran) Sayles; and three sisters, Frieda Dearth, Amelia Dearth and Katherine Dearth.
