Marg, Jean A. (7 SEP 1934 - 8 JUL 2010)

 

NEILLSVILLE -- Jean Marg, 75, of Neillsville died Thursday, July 8, 2010, at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville.

Jean Ann Marg was born Sept. 7, 1934, in West Salem, the daughter of Herb and Elvira (Bahnub) Schmidt. She was united in marriage Sept. 18, 1954, in Melrose to Donald Marg. They moved to Neillsville, and Jean worked for more than 20 years as a dental assistant for Dr. Carroll Schield. After Dr. Schield retired, Jean held various other jobs in the area until she retired.

Jean also helped with her family's construction business and summer stagecoach rides in Sandusky, Ohio, in 1967 and 1968.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; two children, Cindy (Larry) Strangfeld of Neillsville and Jeff "Curly" Marg of Custer, S.D.; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Don (Elizabeth) Schmidt of Melrose and Harlan Schmidt of Ettrick; sisters, Marlene (Richard) Dopp of Canby, Ore., and Connie Schmidt of Seattle, Wash.

As per Jean's request, a memorial service for family members will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. A caring and sharing gathering for Jean and Don's friends will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the new American Legion Hall in Neillsville.
