Blecha, Lynn (25 APR 1915 - 24 DEC 2009)
DIED: 24 Dec 2009 at a hospice at 1043 Sparrow Lane, Fairfield, Solano, CA.
From his daughter, Carolyn. Dearest family and friends:
My dear father, Lynn Blecha, died Thursday evening, December 24th, at home in Fairfield, California. Bill and I were at his bedside and he left us very quietly and peacefully.
Dad had been in a steady decline for the past six months, more so in the past several weeks. We moved him from his assisted living apartment in mid-July to a residential care home where he lived with two wonderful caregivers, Tony and Dom. He had been under hospice care since mid-October.
At first, I was extra sad that he died on Christmas Eve but then I realized what better time to make one's way to Heaven -- all the Angels are on duty that holy night and every heavenly choir is singing! What a festive and joyous time to be reunited with his earthly family gone before him.
I am so glad that we were able move him from Florida to California in June 2007. We had two and a half years living close together and Bill and I visited with every week, something we were not able to do when he lived in Florida. Also, Lynn was able to see his granddaughter, Laura, and his great-grand kids on a couple visits from the Seattle area.
We will have a memorial service early in 2010 in Clearwater, Florida. His cremains will join those of my mother and sister at Curlew Hills.
