Kippenhan, Martha #2 (5 JUL 1893 - 9 JUL 1967)
Mrs. Theodore Kippenhan, 74, Kenosha, formerly of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), died of a heart attack Sunday afternoon, July 9, 1967, in the Memorial Hospital at Kenosha.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 13 at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Greenwood with the Rev. David Logue officiating. Burial was in the West Side Cemetery.
The former Martha Frederica Awe was born July 5, 1893 in the town of Green Grove, Clark County. Her marriage to Theodore Kippenhan, who preceded her in death Nov. 30, 1966, took place June 23, 1915, in the town of Green Grove.
After the marriage the couple farmed northwest of Greenwood until retirement in 1956. They then made their home for five years with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Meinhardt. In 1961, they moved to the city of Greenwood and since May of this year Mrs. Kippenhan had resided with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Sieger, in Kenosha.
She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ and its Women’s Guild.
Survivors are three sons, Alvin and Paul, Greenwood; and Herbert, Wausau; three daughters, Mrs. Emery (Norma) Sieger, Kenosha; Mrs. Elmer (Esther) Meinhardt, Sheboygan Falls; and Mrs. Price R. (Rosa) Davis, Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Voightlander, Abbotsford; a brother Arthur Awe, Owen; 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
