Fourth of July at Hatfield (4 July 1928)
Most of the Neillsville celebrants of the 4th spent the day at Hatfield, and it would seem that most everybody in this neck of the woods had the same idea, for there was a monster crowd at the celebration there. It was an orderly and good natured assemblage and they kept the merry-go-round, the dance pavilion, the various stands and the swimming beach busy all day. Eli Rice was the big attraction at the dance pavilion. Others spent the Fourth at Thorp and other nearby celebrations.
