Horvat, John J. Sr. (10 MAY 1909 - 29 APR 1967)
Services were conducted on Tuesday, April 18, for John Joseph Horvat, Sr., 57, route 1, Willard (Clark Co.), Wis. from the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood. Services at 10:00 a.m. from the Holy Family Catholic Church at Willard were conducted by Rev. William Nikolai and burial was made in the parish cemetery.
Pallbearers were Alfonse Volovsek, William Volovsek, John F. Trunkel, Ludwig Artac, and John Perme.
Authorities said John died at his home Saturday at 6:00 a.m. from a cerebral hemorrhage.
Mr. Horvat was born in Aspen, Colo., on May 10, 1909 and in April 1916 came with his parents to the Willard area. His marriage to Mary Dobish took place Dec. 30, 1936, in Chicago.
Mr. Horvat had farmed in the Willard area until 1957, and since then had been engaged in carpentry work.
He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church at Willard; and the American Slovenian Catholic Society.
In Addition to his wife, survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Mary Jane) Kristapovich, Fort Atkinson; three sons, John, William and Charles, all of Milwaukee; a brother, Rudy Horvat, Willard; three sisters, Mrs. Val (Helen) Krainz and Mrs. Joe (Jennie) Tolaney, and Mrs. Mary Klune, Greenwood; and four grandchildren.
His father and two brothers preceded him in death.
