Bertrang, Richard Nelson Sr. (14, October 1935 - 13 July 2010) With Flag

 

Richard Nelson Bertrang, Sr., 74, passed away Tuesday July 13, 2010.

 

Richard was born October 14, 1935, in Logan County, IL.  He retired from the University of Wisconsin Physical Plant in 1996 after 20-plus years.  He loved playing with his grandchildren, gardening and was known for his sense of humor.  Richard served in the United States Air Force and attended Calvary Baptist Church for many years.  Richard’s life calling was helping others, and he often used his skills as a mechanic to help those in need.

 

Richard is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley; his children, Richard Jr. (wife Martha), James, Steve (wife Kimberly) and Bonnie (husband Richard); his sister, Joyce Swain, and brothers: Duane (wife Judy) and Terry (wife Debbie); grandkids, Jamie, Jessica, Kenna, Eliana, Cailen, Brynn and Ricky.

 

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Alyce and Orville, and his brothers Eddie and Randy.

 

A life celebration was held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2010, at Hooverson Funeral Home in Sauk City, with visitation starting at 11 a.m. Pastor Dan Linsley officiated.

 

2 Timothy 4: 7-8: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.  Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing."
