Prokes, Julie (16 JUN 1966)
Julie Prokes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Flikki of LeRoy, Minn., became the bride of Michael Dunn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merrill E. Dunn of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), on June 16, 1966. The wedding took place at 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in LeRoy, Minn. Pastor Donald E. Lundborg performed the double ring ceremony.
Preceding the entrance of the bride, Miss Susan Dunn, sister of the groom, sang a solo, "When God is Near." The bride, escorted by her father, wore a white gown of tiered silk organza over taffeta and carried her white Bible which held a bouquet of red roses.
As the bride and groom stood at the altar, Miss Dunn sang "The Lord’s Prayer." Pastor Lundborg had a short message on the importance of the home and the happiness that can be found by two who are joined in marriage, who know Christ as their Savior. Following the ceremony, the couple knelt, while Pastor and Mrs. Lundborg sang "Jesus Leads."
Karen Flikki, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Best man was Mr. Walter Gerber, friend of the groom, of Jim Falls, Wis. Ushers were Mr. Kent Flikki, brother of the bride, and Mr. William Sloan. Candle lighters were Mr. Malcolm Dunn, brother of the groom, and Mr. David Flikki, brother of the bride. The organist was Mr. Kenneth Oman of Chippewa Falls, Wis.
Following the reception in the church parlors, the couple left for their home near Donald, Wis.
