Szymiczak, Rev. Fr. Stanley (Resigns at Thorp - 22 November 1928)
Rev. Fr. Stanley Szymiczak, pastor of a Polish congregation in the Town of Thorp has resigned and has been assigned to another congregation.
Fr. Szymiczak became quite noted a few months ago by a controversy with members of his congregation whom he charged were violators of the prohibition law. The trouble went so far that the priest was threatened by the congregation and it is alleged that a boy made an attempt to shoot him. In order to quiet the community, Bishop James Mc Gavick arranged to transfer the priest to Dodgeville.
