Flu is Prevent (December - 1928)
Many cases of flu are reported in all parts of he country. The disease has been especially virulent in California. In Madison there were so many cases that the University was closed a week earlier than usual for the Holiday vacation and the local students are all home. The smaller colleges in the state remain in session this week.
The County Superintendent’s office reports many cases of "colds" throughout the county, seriously cutting down the attendance. A few cases of diphtheria and scarlet fever have also appeared. Locally several cases of flu are reported in the city and a few developing into pneumonia.
