Candelabra and bouquets of white gladioli decorated the mantel piece in the bride’s home in Greenwood for the wedding Saturday, Aug. 6, 1966, of Miss Diane J. Wuethrich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Wuethrich, and Phillip O. Mattes of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Mattes, Sr.

The Rev. Robert Olson officiated at the 8:30 p.m. ceremony.

For her wedding, the bride wore a mauve raw silk imported dress with Swiss lace trim, styled with an empire waist that topped the A-line skirt.  A pillbox hat held her blush veil.  She carried a bouquet of lavender and white chrysanthemums.

Mrs. Daniel Winger of Cadott was matron of honor.  She wore a floral floor length gown fashioned with an empire waistline.  Her bouquet was made up of pale lavender chrysanthemums.

Marvin Verkuillen of Thorp was best man.  Dallas Wuethrich was the usher.

Mrs. Vern Dahlby sang, "The Wedding Prayer" and "The Lord’s Prayer," accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Don Warner.

A 1960 graduate of Greenwood High School, the bride has attended Wis. State University at Eau Claire and River Falls.  Mr. Mattes, a 1960 graduate of Thorp High School, attended Wis. State University - Whitewater, and is a livestock buyer.
