Marg, Jean #3 (07 SEPT 1934-08 JULY 2010)
Jean A., Marg, 75, Neillsville, died on Thursday, July, 8, 2010, at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center. As per her request, a memorial service for family members was held at 11 a.m., on Monday, July 12, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville. Rev. Timothy Biebert officiated. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Her grandsons served as honorary casket bearers.
Jean Ann Schmidt was born on Sept. 7, 1934, in West Salem, to Herb and Elvira (nee Bahnub) Schmidt. She attended Melrose High School and graduated in 1952. On Sept. 18, 1954, she married Donald Marg, in Melrose. They moved to Neillsville and she worked and she worked for more than 29 years as a dental assistant for Dr. Carroll Schield. After Dr. Schield retired, she held various jobs in the area until her retirement. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Church, Neillsville, and a member of the church choir and ladies aid. For many years she was involved in the Saddle Tramps Horse Club. She was a personal secretary of the Clark County Fair. She also helped with her family’s construction business and on summer stagecoach rides in Sandusky, Ohio, in 1967-68.
Survivors include her husband, Donald; two children, Cindy (Larry) Strangfeld, Neillsville, and Jeff "Curly" Marg, Custer, S.D.; five grandchildren, Scott (Corinne) Strangfeld, Colfax, John (Leslie) Strangfeld, DeForest, Marc Strangfeld, Eleva, Matt Marg, Eau Claire and Jeff Marg, Eau Claire; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don (Elizabeth) Schmidt, Melrose, and Harlan Schmidt, Ettrick; two sisters, Marlene (Richard) Dopp, Canby, Ore., and Connie Schmidt, Seattle, Wash.; and in-laws Irvin (Glenna) Marg, Neillsville, Virginia Marg, Neillsville, and Caroline (Roger) Helm, Granton.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters-in-law, Beth Schmidt and Lois Marg; and a brother-in-law, Melvin Marg.
