Nysted, James  (19 NOV 1939 - 22 JULY 2010)

 

James M. Nysted, 70, San Jose, Calif., formerly of Loyal, died of cancer on Thursday, July 22, 2010. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 6, at the Loyal Cemetery.

 

James Martin Nysted was born on Nov. 19, 1939, in Loyal, to Julius and Nina Nysted. He was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church and was raised in the Loyal area. He graduated from Loyal High School in 1957. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and then moved to San Jose. He attended San Jose State University, loved to play the piano and excelled at chess. He was a member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church and served his Lord by singing in the choir for many tears. His contagious laughter will never be forgotten.

 

Survivors include two sisters, Bette Syth, San Jose, and Karen (Larry) Davidson, Elk Grove, Calif.; two brothers, Kenneth (Maryann) Nysred, Fort Atkinson, and Timothy (Barbara) Nysted, Fort Atkinson; one daughter, Jean (Mike) Berghammer, Janedville; and six grandchildren, Gabrielle, Arielle, Samuel, Oliva, Isaiah and Noah.

 

His parents preceded him in death.

 

Donations in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
