Clark County (Royal Neighbors of America - 14 June 1929)

The Clark County Royal Neighbor Convention went over big.  One hundred and ninety-six members representing camps at Withee, Owen, Abbotsford, Greenwood, Chili, Loyal, Granton, Humbird, Rib Lake and Neillsville met at Paulson’s Hall, June 14, and under the efficient instruction of District Deputy Charlotte Enman, spent two sessions in intensely interesting work.

County Oracle, Neighbor Emergence Buddenhagen, presided, and gave the visiting officers and members a fine address of welcome.  Officers of the County Organization and members selected from the various camps throughout the county, exemplified the work during the school of instruction.  At the evening session, the drill team of the hostess camp, Pride of the Valley, No. 6710 of Neillsville, beautifully exemplified the ritualistic work, initiating a fine class.

During this session, Neighbors Ruth Huckstead and Dorothy Lynch rendered a delightful piano duet; a drill team from Camp 78, under the direction of neighbor Marvel Carleton, put on a very petty and well executed fancy drill; and Neighbor Marguerite DuFay sang most effectively "The End of a Perfect Day".

Camp 78 of Neillsville extended an invitation to the Convention for the 1930 meeting, and Neighbor Anna Kleckner was elected County Oracle.  Expression of praise were heard on all sides regarding the convention generally, the excellent supper - a feature of which was the singing of grace by Neighbors Marian Lynch and Marguerite DuFay - and the courtesy shown the R. N. A. by the many show windows displaying the colors, purple and white.  Neighbor Marian Lynch, musician of Camp 6710, played through both sessions and thanks are due her for much of the success of the parts depending on good music.
