Tennis, Joanne  (04 SEPT 1948)

 

Miss Joanne Tennis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Tennis of Unity, became the bride of John W. Pribnow, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Pribnow of Loyal, at 4 o’clock ceremony at Zion Lutheran church in Colby on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 4. The Rev. Otto Hoffman officiated.

 

The couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. George Miller, brother-in-law and sister of the groom, as best man and matron of honor. Miss Julianne  Mandel, cousin of the bride, as bridesmaid, and Herbert Maier, cousin of the groom as usher. Flower girls were Janice Tennis, the bride’s sister, and Christine and Merry Miller, nieces of the groom.

 

The bride wore a champagne satin dress, fashioned with full skirt, filled bodice and a sweetheart neckline, edged with ruching. She carried a colonial bouquet of red roses and white gladioli. Trails of ivy edged her fingertip lace edged veil, which had been worn 56 years ago by her grandmother.

 

The matron of honor was gowned in yellow taffeta, fashioned in colonial style, and carried a colonial bouquet of white roses and orchid gladioli. The bridesmaid and flower girls were dressed in varying colors of taffeta, colonial-style gowns, and carried colonial bouquets.

 

At 6 o’clock dinner was served, and a reception was held for immediate relatives at the home of the bride’s parents.

 

Mrs. Pribnow was graduated from the Unity high school with the class of 1946, and the groom graduated from the Loyal high school in 1946.

 

The couple has returned from a week’s honeymoon in Canada’s and will reside here, operating Pribnow’s Café.

 

Out-of-town relatives at the wedding included: Mrs. Theresa Maier of Stanley, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Maier and Hubert, Eugene and Gerald Maier of Detroit, Mich., Mr. and Mrs. Eric Maier of Eau Claire, Mr. and Ervin Pohl of  Milwaukee, and Mrs. Minnie Laach of Abbotsford.

 

The Loyal Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
