Pinecrest Golf Course (Tournament –20 July 1929)
Saturday afternoon local golfers engaged in a tournament at the Pinecrest Golf Course, twenty-four players taking part. The purpose of the tournament was to start getting a line on the playing of the various members of the club for handicap purposes. A box of golf balls was the prize in the competition, low score for all the players drawing one prize and aggregate low score for a four-some getting the other. L. Williamson shot the low ball, getting a 44 and a 42. The scores of the low four-some were: Doc Claflin 47 and 46; W. L. Smith 46 and 45; Lyman Smith 46 and 46; R. E. Schmedel 47 and 46. The rest of the players turned in scores slightly higher than those above.
