Martha Opelt is quite sick with the measles.

Mrs. Fred Hanky is on the sick list.

Mr. Miller and wife of Milston, who have been visiting their daughter, Mrs. R.T. Washburn, returned to their home Tuesday.

John Martin and daughter Gertrude were Neillsville callers Friday.

Mrs. Robert Jackish and little daughter of Dubuque, Iowa, are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Neitzel.

Frank Schippa of Owen has taken a position as sausage maker at Dwyer & Kurth’s.

Mat Gangler returned to Chicago Tuesday.  He was accompanied by Mrs. Nick Gangler, who will spend a short time visiting there.

Mrs. Mary Redmond and daughter, Miss Mattie, of Rice Lake arrived her Saturday night for a visit with Ed Rowe and family.

Ole Hauge, the drayman, bought a Buick motor truck in Milwaukee Tuesday.  It is a light truck and will be used for draying about town.  It will be here Saturday ready for business.

Last Wednesday afternoon Mrs. W.L. Hemphill entertained a party of ladies in honor of Mrs. R. Dickinson, and Monday afternoon Mrs. Dickinson was the guest of honor at a party given by Mrs. T.M. Alexander.

Monday night burglars attempted to gain an entrance into Huntley Bros. store by prying one of the back windows up.  The marks made by the bar they used could be plainly seen, and the glass in one window had been broken so that the latch could be lifted.  The windows had just been painted and were stuck so tightly that the efforts of the would-be robbers were in vain.  The bloodhound used at Chili was wired for,
