Galbreath, James Robert (8 Jan 1864 - 25 Aug 1913)


James Robert Galbreath died Monday afternoon at his home at Shortville after an illness extending over a period of several months.  He was born in Grant County, Indiana, Jan. 8, 1864.  He spent the early years of his life there and at the age of 20 years he removed to Richland County, Wis.  On Jan. 3, 1885 he was united in marriage to Ina Fox and to this union five children were born, two of whom died in infancy.  Mr. and Mrs. Galbreath lived there about fifteen years and then came to Clark County.  For 13 years they have resided in the vicinity of Shortville.  Deceased is survived by his wife and three children, Mrs. Isaac Higgins of Richland County, Ethel and Roscoe, who live at home.  Also two brothers, John of Shortville and Ira of Manning, N.D., two sisters, Mrs. Maple and Mrs. Beall of Sims, Ind.


Mr. Galbreath was a man of many excellent qualities and he was well liked generally in the neighborhood which had been his home for 13 years.  He was capable and industrious and a good husband and father and these qualifications were combined in a character which was esteemed by all his friends.  The funeral was held yesterday morning at 10 o’clock at the Shortville church and internment was made in the Neillsville Cemetery.
